Thank you for making us feel most welcome at Gallery Cottages. "Ochre" was spotlessly clean, spacious, and so very stylish. We were able to relax in comfort in the evenings and we all caught up on some much needed sleep! The location was perfectly peaceful and access to the plunge pool and picture-perfect outside seating was the icing on the cake especially for the children. Our dog, Bella, made herself immediately at home, enjoying the energy of these beautisul surroundings (matched by the accommodation). Gallery Cottages has proved to be a little haven for us - and we return home recharged. Rob and Belinda, thank you and kind wishes, from the Stables family.

P.S. thank you Rob for your wonderful workshop. I tried to absorb every minute and I look forward to practising and applying everything I have learnt!

We had a thoroughly fantastic week staying at Sienna Cottage. Our hosts Belinda and Rob were really welcoming and friendly and had thought of everything! The cottage was spotlessly clean and as the weather was so hot we were really grateful to arrive into the cottage 3 hours before the usual time of 4.00pm. Gallery Cottages are a great combination of home from home luxury in a peaceful location but surprisingly close to all of the lovely places North Devon visitors want to see. We have all had a restful week - we will be back!

We have had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ochre. The cottage is gorgeous and perfect for dealing with beach/pool wet children! Jacob and Thomas loved spending time in the pool. The painting course with Rob was an amazing addition and very thankful you fitted it in at short notice! Hopefully we will be back!

Perfect stay - thank you! Cottage was beautifully appointed and extremely well equipped - there was nothing that we needed missing. The private garden is a huge bonus with 5 dogs and the walks literally on the doorstep - perfect! Such a warm welcome from you and Holly was much appreciated. It was lovely to be able to have a dip in the pool as it was so hot. This is easily the most comfortable, welcoming and dog friendly place I have ever stayed in. Thankyou for a very warm welcome and a delicious cream tea. We have enjoyed our stay at Ochre, situated in beautiful surroundings. It is very warm and cosy, light and airy, with everything provided to make it feel homely. Spotlessly clean, with lovely comfortable beds with quality linens and towels. It is one of the most dog friendly and practical places we have stayed in and they were made very welcome. Ideally situated to explore both rural and coastal Devon and Cornwall. Set in quiet country side these beautiful cottages are stylish, jam packed with everything you need for a self catering holiday and more. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with clean white linen and fluffy towels. The bathroom is stunning. Close to so many gorgeous dog friendly beaches and walks. Lovely hosts - very friendly - great hospitality. Comfy beds and fans ad hoc in extreme heat was very thoughtful. Pippa the dog had a lovely time. Local dog walking option (fields and paths) were great. Beautiful part of the world and location provides easy access to different parts of the coast. Big Blue surf lessons were brilliant. Painting option was fantastic for developing artistic skills. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We literally couldn't fault our stay at Gallery Cottages. You have thought of absolutely everything! The location is the perfect base to explore the coast and then come back to chill by the pool. Cooked more than we normally would because we had the dog but the large fridge freezer and equipment made this easy. Very peaceful and comfortable setting to relax and unwind - just what we needed! Wonderful relaxing and peaceful place with easy access to so many places in Devon and Cornwall. Third visit and we have finally sorted the satnav so that we can mostly avoid the narrow lanes. First visit involved a lot of backing up. Beaches are stunning. Walks amazing. Every year we have gone to completely different places. Our last day ventured in to the pool. Favourite place to read a book. We will be back.

What can we say - two very thoughtful, attentive and pleasant hosts who have obviously thought of every comfort for their guests - including the four-legged ones! The cottage is clean, comfortable and very well equipped, with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. We especially enjoyed using the lovely plunge pool. Having somewhere to exercise our dog on site is a major plus too. Overall a very well appointed holiday home provided by two lovely hosts.

Fantastic welcome. Adapted cottage to allow us both to use front and back with chairs (the lack of fuss and speed of resolution left us feeling comfortable). Impressed with the quietness of the surroundings and the accessibility of many local attractions. Fantastically equipped kitchen, comfortable sofa and beds - bath looked inviting just a shame we can't use it. Shower was really nice and great to be offered a shower chair. Impressed that our dog Jovita was given a holiday name tag, a really lovely touch, and she was made to feel so welcome.

We had an amazing stay at Ochre, the scones on arrival and the biscuits on departure were both lovely. Rob and Belinda were friendly and accommodating to us and the dogs and thought of every little detail even holiday dog tags. Wonderful home from home exceptional accommodation. Fresh, clean, beautiful surroundings.100% / 100%. No downside. Pace of life slows to a babbling brook. As for the "Master Class" in watercolours, Rob is a knowledgeable professional fine artist who has managed to impart some of his skills on to one who has never picked up a paintbrush and the outcome was truly a work of art worthy of framing. We had a truly amazing holiday in Sienna. The accommodation was perfect for what we needed with 2 children and 2 dogs. We loved the pool which was used every day and our youngest's swimming has got so much better as a result. The location was great for what we wanted to do. All of the little extras that were so thoughtful made it such a lovely experience, like the info book, dog tags and all the equipment in the property. Thank you for a comfortable stay it was nice to be welcomed and made feel happy that we came here. Given helpful advise about local area and where the local shops were. The only thing we all agreed that it would have been nice to be able to have a welcoming pack of general things like coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, eggs, bacon, etc for next morning even a evening meal package could be offered at extra cost as it is quite a ride after you have already been driving for a few hours. Also the accommodation which we stayed in is not really child friendly as had to watch out for our little girl the glass on the table. She knocked herself on it also we very constantly have to worry the glass was going to come off also the iron dining room chairs were not comfortable to sit on but apart from that very clean. We had everything we need to a nice stay. Would come back, just need a mop and bucket and maybe a swing and slide for young children to play on.

We are self-catering accommodation, most of our guests prefer to do an online shop and have it delivered on arrival or pop into the local supermarket before they check in. I did a watercolour workshop which was fun and Rob has great patience. A great place to base yourself to visit both Devon and Cornwall. I have booked to come back later in the year.

Lovely "home from home". Everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in North Devon. Good location for visits to all the towns, villages around and on the coast. Great facilities - hope to return. Enjoyed Rob's workshop and am going to give "loose watercolours" a try. I was talking to an arty lady in Bude this morning who sells Rob's art in her studio. We enjoyed our stay at Ochre very much. The pool was perfect for our daughter who wanted to swim every day. The house was nice and warm when we got out of the pool and the shower welcome. Comfortable, clean, modern accommodation. Everything we needed is here. Fantastic plunge pool, loved by kids. The only downside (if pushed!) is having to drive everywhere due to remoteness. No shop or pub within walking distance. As mentioned to you, holiday cottages website/booking was not great as not live system and communication was poor."

Umber Cottage was an amazing experience with their lovely pool and sunny days. We all slept very well on their deluxe beds with nice firm pillows. The shower/wet room had the perfect temperature to suit our needs. The overall rating of Umber is a solid 10/10!

Lovely, clean, modern and well equipped accommodation. Cream tea on arrival was delicious and very thoughtful - as were the departure biscuits. Patio area was great. Kids loved having access to the pool and the selection of 'toys' to take to the beach, etc. We loved the log burner - and are now going to get one ourselves! We've had a wonderful short break and will definitely recommend to friends. Can't think of any improvements... maybe somewhere to rinse wetsuits."

Best dog friendly accommodation we have stayed in - fantastic walks, appreciate the small touches like the dog tags. We understand the need for sofas to be covered but suggest a quick wash as the waterproof cover had a bit of a doggy odour. (Very minor point!). The grounds and the plunge pool were in great condition and we all, particularly our boys, really enjoyed them. The cottage itself had everything (and more!) that we needed - shower pressure and temperature much appreciated! Hope to visit again next year, thank you!

A wonderful 'no faults' stay in Sienna. From the time we arrived to leaving, the hospitality has been amazing. The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Location allows you to do as much or as little as you want to do. The decor, furniture, fixings, etc are all of an incredible standard. To be honest, I don't think there is anything you could improve. We will definitely be back, hopefully in the warmer months with family joining in the other cottages.

I have just had another great week in Umber and it was my second stay this year. Enjoyed it so much so I have booked to come again next May. I did one of Rob’s watercolour workshops during my stay and really enjoyed it. It is a really peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Rob and Belinda are perfect hosts and Holly dog is such a sweetie and I get my doggie fix. Ate out a couple of times and there are some great local restaurants not far away. Can’t wait to come back. We have stayed in many cottages before and usually the description has been disappointing when we arrived but not Gallery Cottages!!! We must say that Sienna and hosts at Gallery Cottages have been absolutely amazing and we have booked for two weeks next year already. The beds, the quality of the fittings, the bathroom and the general open plan of the property has made it so much easier for one of our party who is a wheelchair user. The general position of Gallery Cottages allows access to many beaches easily, far enough away from the tourism but close enough to drive to within 20 minutes. We will be recommending Gallery Cottages to many of our friends. See you again next year. Thanks again.

Belinda and Rob are two of the nicest people and hosts. Ochre is wonderful, every need has been thought of and then some. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and so did the dogs. The pool area was the icing on the cake for us. The scones were lush and love the cookies to take home. All in all one of the nicest place we have stayed in and will definitely be back. Didn't like to leave the doors open at night, so the bedroom was a little stuffy at night but that is the only negative.

Fabulous!! What a beautiful cottage, we have absolutely loved it here. Tyler loves the pool (we might have one at home now!). I cannot fault anything about Umber Cottage. Spotlessly clean, modern and so well thought out with additional touches like scones and cream on arrival (wonderful!). I cannot recommend Umber enough and I don't want to leave. Didn't get to use the pool as we were too busy but it was warm and in a peaceful setting. So will 100% give it a try next time. If you want a stunning cottage with easy access to beaches in the area then this is just perfect. I cannot thank you enough for such a wonderful time at Gallery Cottages. I can honestly say this has been one of the best holidays we have had and the boys LOVED it! You have a beautiful piece of paradise here and we can't wait to return. The attention to detail has blown me away and you really have thought of everything. My brother and his wife are visiting in October and already told them they are in for a treat. Couple of suggestions we thought might be useful/attractive for parents with young babies/children. Maybe a swing or small outdoor play frame? Also a package to include a child step, add on toilet seat, non-slip bath mat, bottle warmer, etc... just to save people bringing these items with them. Access to a dryer.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here at Ochre. Belinda and Rob have been perfect hosts going above and beyond everything we needed for a wonderful stay here in beautiful Devon. The cottage exceeded our expectations with tasteful decor and stunning artwork. Everything is of the highest quality. We particularly enjoyed the pool with its stunning views, our son spent a lot of time playing in there. We will definitely be back.

This is the second time we have been welcomed to Gallery Cottages and we have enjoyed an excellent stay both times. The cottages are very clean and well equipped and we love the quiet location. We felt very comfortable and welcome here. Great amenities and everything felt well thought of. The only thing we missed was a more traditional dining chair. We ate in most days and the stools are a little hard to sit on and eat in comfort. (Also, for older guests this would be a real struggle). We really hope to return for another stay and hope for sun and a chance to use the pool next time. Thank you for a lovely holiday. We will recommend to friends and family to come and stay.

We have had a wonderful stay. The space in and around Ochre has been great. The only thing missing for us (young family) is the blackout blind option but in all honesty it's not something we have found in other places we stay. What a find Gallery Cottages has been. After an 11 hour journey from North Yorkshire all we wanted was a relaxing stay. Belinda, Rob and Holly, you have absolutely smashed it, there were no negatives at all. Myself, Wendy, Mary, Millie, Bramble and Maggie have loved your hospitality. Excellent rural location, fabulous barn conversion, glorious pool and garden, amazing hosts - thank you both. We visited loads of places, ate out, drank cider and had a BBQ. Luxurious bath, quality shower. Bed a little too firm for me (Anne). Art session... WOW... I'm in the right direction now Rob!

What a wonderful stay! We absolutely loved our time here. The cottage was so well equipped and we felt so comfortable staying here. The plunge pool was an added bonus that we all enjoyed especially with the beautiful weather we had. Your welcome scones were delicious and parting cookies equally as yummy. The bedrooms were so comfy and restful (we both slept so well all week). We loved the kitchen area and comfy sofas in the evening. A great size TV (smart TV so I could still watch You Tube, thank you) The outside space is perfect, sadly we couldn't use the BBQ (next time hopefully). The pool area is a lovely space. We did sit up there one evening on the comfy sofa area and watched the sun set, magical! Thank you both so much.

Lovely. Nice space. Lovely beds. Excellent shower. Great enclosed garden. With UK weather a hot tub would be more used! Only critic is the bedside table too small and in second bedroom nowhere to put anything, need a slim shelf or table or a deeper bedside with drawers/ corner unit/ narrow chest for second bedroom?? Gallery and workshops and excellent addition. Thanks for being such good hosts and a lovely touch was the gift to take home and cream tea on arrival and being so doggy friendly. Thank you x. Rob and Belinda and Holly-dog are fabulous hosts and Umber is a beautiful cottage which has everything you could wish for including the log burner which I made good use of in the evenings. The peace and tranquility is wonderful and the starry night skies are just fantastic. I could lie in bed at night and look up through the velux window and see everything. The cottage is perfectly situated for the beaches and lots of walks. I enjoyed it so much I booked a further week in September.

We've had a lovely week, lovely cottage and really well equipped - if we had only one thing to mention it would be great to have a broom to sweep the floor - probably only because of the dog! Oh, and the seal on the bath plug is a bit loose so it drains while you're in it. But, thanks for a great week. We love the cottage.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely cottage. Despite unpromising weather, we've been out on coastal explorations every day and not been drenched! Really well appointed here, so much to see and much walking to be done. We've loved doing yoga on the lawn in the mornings too! An extremely welcome break after a long and strange year at home! We will be back!! The cream teas were very welcome too.
P.S. Holly is adorable and the homemade chocs were delicious and a lovely personal touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a lovely peaceful stay at Sienna, just what we needed. The house was wonderfully equipped with everything we could need. I only wish it could have been warmer so we could have used the outdoor space more, it's a beautiful location and we will definitely be back.

Just returned today from. 2 week stay in Umber. This was my third attempt after 2 lockdown cancellations last year and it did not disappoint. Umber is a wonderful cottage and beautifully furnished and equipped. The courtyard garden was a real sun trap and for the cool evenings the log burner was great. The gardens and pool area are great and it is a lovely place to sit and read amongst the peace and quiet. Rob and Belinda are the perfect hosts and Holly their labrador is such a cutie and a big sister to my own lab. Umber is ideally situated with easy access to the north Devon and Cornwall coast not far away . There is no light pollution so the night skies when clear are amazing. The pink moon earlier this week was stunning. I enjoyed it so much I am going again for another week later this year.

We really enjoyed our stay in Umber. The cottage is spacious and beautifully designed and the grounds are also beautiful and tranquil. The hosts were amazing - we could not have asked for anything more. The welcome and leaving gifts were very thoughtful and the information guides provided were very useful when planning days out. We, and our dog, have really enjoyed staying at Umber and felt very settled - and so we would definitely come back next time we visit Devon!

We have had a fantastic time staying in Ochre. The cottage is beautifully designed for the family including the dog! It is extremely comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome. The folder of info was incredibly helpful and the cream tea and cookies were a delightful touch. We have no negative feedback, one addition to the kitchen that would be useful would be a cheese grater [It is in the corner cupboard. R&B]. Everything was immaculate - we have been so impressed. Very happy with the cottage; well thought out and spacious. Pool area is fabulous. The only suggestion we would make is that a few steps up onto the grassed area would be really useful. The dogs inevitably jump up there and a step or two would help when it's time to climb up onto the grass to clean up after the dogs. We would certainly recommend to anyone visiting the area. 10/10.

The holiday cottage is fantastic and beautifully finished. The location is great for visiting local beaches and Devon/Cornwall attractions. A great place to stay with the family and the dogs over the festive period. I look forward to a return journey in the spring/summer. Slight gripe: the noise from the extraction fan from the master bedroom is disruptive.

Loved "Ochre" - Fully equipped, stylish, comfortable with amazing art scattered throughout. Belinda, Rob and Holly were perfect hosts. Loved cream tea on arrival and folder was very informative. Only downside - no oven gloves, DVD player (youngest suggested!). We'd definitely come again! Thanks.

A beautiful cottage, well situated in the heart of the countryside. A very warm and friendly welcome. Cream tea on arrival was a plus! The cottage was very clean, well equipped and kept us warm and cosy throughout our stay. Easy access to fields and walks for us and the dogs. Belinda's cakes were amazing. A lovely warm welcome and an added bonus with scones, clotted cream and jam. Lovely accommodation that was clean, warm and cosy. Well equipped and wonderful towels and bathroom!! It was a pleasure to return to after our days out. Ted, our Lakeland Terrier, loved the cottage and many walks he had whilst here. It was ideal for North Devon and Cornish borders. We would highly recommend the fish and chip van plus pizza van. We struggled with our phone signal but hey, we're on holiday!! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay and to to return soon.

While we didn't use the shared garden and pool area too much, we thought they were both excellent and if we weren't out and about so much, we would definitely have used them more. Lovely cottage very well equipped and helpful owners. Pool lovely especially when you can't go to the beach. Dog tags are a great idea. Art classes are a definite bonus and were thoroughly enjoyed. Shame there's no opening window in the bedroom with the French doors. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully come back again.

We have enjoyed a thoroughly peaceful and relaxing holiday at Sienna. The attention to detail from the "just from the oven scones" and cream tea to Charlie's ID – very thoughtful. We had a great time exploring locally and catching up with Cornish friends; with the plunge pool and garden to enjoy early evening. Izzy really enjoyed her art lesson and I did too as an observer – very interesting. We will certainly recommend you. Thank you and wishing you every success for the future.

We've had a fantastic 2 week stay in Ochre with our three dogs. The cottage is superb and is really well set up for holiday lets with everything you need. The plunge pool was great on a hot day too. Lots of beach options within reasonable drive time, lovely pubs also at Hartland Quay, Abbotsham and Bradworthy. Very peaceful but lots to do if you don't mind a short drive. Owners Belinda and Rob are really welcoming and know the area. They have done a superb job in what's been created here. We've had such a good holiday. Thank you.

Gallery cottages are simply stunning accommodation in a wonderful location. We have stayed here a couple of times in Ochre and Umber and couldn’t have been happier during our stays.
They are absolutely amazing – so well thought-out, lovingly designed and decorated, very well equipped – couldn’t wish for anything more. A true home away from home but better!!
Rob & Belinda were amazing hosts who were always on hand whenever we needed them.

I was blown away at the standard of the accommodation, in fact I would love to live here.
Greeted with scones and jam on a wet day and a very warm room. Sienna is beautifully laid out and decorated throughout. An amazing place to use as a base to explore North Devon.

We have had a brilliant time here in this beautiful part of Devon, a shame we could only stay 5 days with a busy weekend coming up for us (we will have to come back).
The cottage and owners are wonderful. Great hosts, lovely cream tea welcomed us after the drive here. Dogs really friendly to our dog. Gave us tips on places to go and see and gave us names of great places to eat too.
We will definitely return.

Enid managed to slip through the mesh under the back of the hedge (to the left) once so may need securing more, just a thought? And due to a rainy week, meaning more hot showers, another towel each would have been perfect

The cottage is really well equipped with good quality equipment, we even baked brownies, scones and a cake, no problem!
You have both been really helpful and friendly hosts, we have really enjoyed meeting you and of course Peanut has too, especially Holly & Poppy.
The only thing we would add is somewhere for muddy shoes and jackets, near the door. Also we thought your book was super helpful and humorous at times.

Clean, spacious, well equipped, very quiet, easy access to Sienna, lovely grounds, great hosts and folder info very useful. Great distance for all we wanted to visit down further into Cornwall.

We have really enjoyed our stay at Gallery Cottages and the cottage provided the perfect base.
From the initial friendly welcome, including cream tea (much appreciated – thank you) to the quality of the accommodation which exceeded our expectations – especially the shower – great after a long day at the beach. The kids especially liked the plunge pool and obviously Poppy & Holly!! The impressive visitor information pack helped us plan some fantastic days out.
We will definitely recommend Gallery Cottages to family and friends, and hope to visit again soon – thank you Rob & Belinda and good luck with the 3rd cottage. Best wishes.

Accommodation was beautiful and very well equipped and the information pack was great. The book shelf is a lovely touch, though I am gutted I didn’t get to finish Graham Norton!
Our only slight issue was no window to open in bedroom and winter duvet – so very warm at night.

Well, what can I say … a really lovely cottage, beautifully appointed in an amazing setting.
What makes the holiday cottage stand out though, are the pool garden, lawn area and the extra field for dogs to romp in!
We love the area anyway but it is particularly peaceful and restful here.

Our second stay here and even better than last year. The addition of the gas BBQ meant dinner was always an easy option. Ochre offered everything we needed including the space to sit outside in the sun. In theory, we could have spent our whole day up here, as the green spaces meant the children could play and be a little independent (both aged 11). Leaving here really relaxed and loathed to go!! Thank you Belinda & Rob for making our stay such a success.
And the watercolour class – what a great thing to try while away. Rob you are a very patient teacher – thank you!!

We have loved our week at Ochre cottage. In fact, we really don’t want to go home. A beautiful and stylish renovation in a picturesque setting. You have thought of everything – even extra dog bowls! We’ve had lots of fun days out, but also relished the time spent at Gallery Cottages.
There are lots of great visits within an hour’s drive. We particularly enjoyed Westward Ho!
Everything about Ochre cottage is high quality. It’s clear you have invested in giving your guest’s a wonderful “top-end” venue for their holidays.

We have really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was surprisingly spacious, modern and well kitted out. Your folder was particularly useful for selecting the right beach for dog walking. We enjoyed the barbeque and the main garden was a treat.
There wasn’t much we missed – it was the small things – colander, larger towels for men, shelf or drawer in bedside unit and small chest in 2nd room. Main thing for us was that we were unaware dogs couldn’t be left in the property on their own. We managed to switch around our plans but it did mean we couldn’t go out as much as a group.
Other than that – fantastic holiday. Thank you for your hospitality!

We had a lovely welcome with a cream tea waiting. The accommodation is stunning, very comfortable and tastefully furnished. Beds very comfortable with crisp lovely bedding. Bathroom is lovely, very practical, great shower and bath is handy for children. The site and gardens are immaculate, swimming pool was cold but lovely (had to use a garden chair to help to get in, as mobility problems) as there is no rail. Seating in garden is lovely, secluded and peaceful. The equipment provided is first class with everything you could possibly need.
We had a lovely holiday and would return and recommend to friends and family.
You have provided lovely accommodation with beautiful artwork with all year round facilities, lovely wood-burner. Thanks again.

Clean, comfortable and dog friendly. Probably the best we’ve stayed in.
Just to let you know – lounge door isn’t easy to close & curtain in singles bedroom keeps falling off the rail when window is open.

Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Tastefully decorated and very modern.

This is by far the best vacation we've had in a long time. The only feedback is that we would have loved a change of sheets since we stayed for more than 3 days. Apart from this, everything was absolutely perfect and would love to come back.

We arrived much later than planned but it was no trouble at all. Belinda & Rob made us feel very welcome & everything was ready for us (the cream tea provided was delicious!) Friendly, well-behaved labradors Poppy & Holly kept a discreet watch on our comings & goings. The garden was lovely & quiet for an al fresco breakfast. A bit of travel required if you want pubs/shops/restaurants/activities but the cottage was perfect to come home to. Afternoon by the pool highly recommended!
