Gallery Cottages sits in approximately an acre and a half of Rob and Belinda's property who also live on site in a 300 year old stone barn conversion. The former dairy farm has been recently and sympathetically redeveloped to provide three superbly appointed holiday cottages with their own private patio and secure dog friendly garden area complete with garden furniture and gas fired barbecue.

Our secure and secluded pool garden has a lawned area and shared heated plunge pool, sun lounge area with patio and gazebo with garden furniture and stunning open countryside views towards Dartmoor. A perfect relaxation area with amazing sunsets. We also have a larger shared lawned area ideal for ball games (we have a selection of free to use balls and games) as well as a good exercise and play area for dogs.

Directly from the property are plenty of countryside walks, with or without dogs, including a public footpath through the fields to the local church, narrow Devon lanes with great views and prolific with wild flowers, woodlands carpeted with bluebells and shallow streams for your dogs to splash about in.

Our on-site art gallery provides the opportunity for a little cultural enrichment where you can peruse artwork including local scenes and seascapes. You can even have a go yourself with our regular watercolour workshops. Check out our Art Gallery page.

All this nestled in scenic rural North Devon. In fact, you never really need to leave the site but it would be a shame to miss out on everything that Devon and Cornwall have to offer!

The Plunge Pool

Our plunge pool is located in the "pool garden" which has a small lawned area, paved sun terrace and gazebo with tables, chairs and sun loungers. It is totally secluded, not overlooked and has stunning views across open Devon countryside towards Dartmoor. 

The pool is open from Easter until 31st October. It measures 4 metres x 2 metres approximately and is 1.2 metres deep with integral bench seat and easy access steps. Small but perfectly formed, ideal for cooling off on those balmy summer days.

It is heated via an air-source heat pump and kept at a constant 30 degrees Celsius. It must be noted however that whilst we endeavour to keep the pool temperature constant, at certain times of year, such as Easter, you will be aware that air temperatures can vary dramatically and the heater will shut down if there is a risk of frost. 

The plunge pool is shared between our three cottages. We have found that there is ample time for everybody to use the pool and have time to themselves as well as being able to meet other guests whilst sharing. This has worked very well and everyone has been considerate to other users.
